We offer a full printing service specialising in screen printing, with a production capacity of 10,000 shirts a day. The more you screen print, the cheaper the unit price. To give you our best price, we just need to see your artwork first.
Six factors decide the price of a screen printed run. Understanding them helps you get the most shirts for your budget.
It is cheaper to print on white shirts than on coloured shirts.
The more colours in your image, the more screens and the higher the cost.
The more you print, the cheaper the unit price becomes.
The more positions on the shirt, the more setup and the higher the cost.
100% cotton, 100% polyester or a cotton poly blend can each behave differently.
A wide range from kids to adults can need more than one screen.
From a one colour logo to a full colour all over print, we run it all under one roof, so your job is matched to the right method.
A high resolution image at 300dpi gives the best result. We accept:
To quote, let us know the shirt colour, how many colours are in each image, and how many print positions you need, for example front centre chest, back across the shoulders, or a sleeve.
Not sure how many colours are in your design? Just email it over and we will work it out for you.
Get a Screen Printing QuoteThe earliest records of screen printing date to the Chinese Song Dynasty around 960 to 1279 AD. The skill spread through Asia and reached Europe in the 18th century. An English printer named Samuel Simon patented stretching silk on a wooden frame, and in 1914 John Pilsworth applied for a patent for a multi colour process. Today most screens use synthetic polyester mesh.
Screen printing applies ink to a garment through a fine mesh. A blocking agent seals the areas around your design, then ink is pulled across the screen with a squeegee, passing through the open mesh and onto the shirt. The ink is then cured with heat. One screen is needed for each colour, so a multi colour design uses several screens.
The quality of a print comes down to the mesh count, measured in fibres per square inch. A lower count lays down a heavier ink deposit, while a higher count allows finer detail. We match the mesh to your artwork, ink and garment for the best result.
Our screen printing capacity is up to 10,000 shirts a day, so we are well set up for large volume runs as well as smaller jobs.
Screen printing carries a setup cost per colour, so it is most cost effective from around 20 units up. For very small runs, digital printing with no minimum is usually the better choice.
The price depends on the number of colours and print positions in your design. Seeing the artwork lets us give you an accurate price rather than a rough guess.
For small runs under about 25 units, digital printing is usually the most cost effective. As you move past roughly 50 units, screen printing often becomes cheaper, depending on the number of colours.
